But if Trump says it’s ok to exclude some deportations, MAGA will say it’s ok. The world is wild right now. The fact they can’t see the hypocrisy of Trump speaks to their intelligence.

You are absolutely right! They repeat what they have been told by the conservative media echo chamber.

You are correct that Trump’s policies and leadership is making some people turn towards violence and hate . From Los Angeles to New York and everywhere in between ICE Agents and police have come under attack. Riots have erupted and private businesses and property have been destroyed. Democratic leaders have in some cases been arrested themselves for interfering with law enforcement , setting ,in my opinion a terrible example for citizens. I thought “no one was above the law “. I guess that depends if your governor or mayor believes in harboring illegal immigrants.

The young people of America turned out for Trump in large numbers Scoot. You may call him a bully. I call him the best president since Reagan. Don’t you want a bully when dealing with Putin and the mess in the Middle East? Fragile? Far from it.

John McCain . Mitt Romney. I would describe those two as fragile. And because they were so weak when attempting to defend the Right voters were drawn to Trump years later. A fighter. Comfortable with his own identity . A survivor. Now stacking up win after win.

I will continue to believe that Donald Trump is a fragile man. Yes, I want toughness when it comes to serious military issues and our enemy - but even that toughness should be based on intellect and not just being a bully.

I am accurate in my assessment of how fragile Trump is when it comes to any criticism. His failure to deal with criticism without name-calling or degrading comments exposes a bully mentality.

I don't see anything in Trump's character that would say that he is fragile.. could you please give an example?

So let’s agree to disagree. You say the person who has literally been called Hitler and a nazi on television by countless paid commentators is fragile and doesn’t take criticism well. Would you call yourself fragile? Why is this thread on Substack and not Facebook? Is it because you didn’t like the bullies posting mean comments there, and sometimes calling you a liar? I know how that criticism seems to trigger you. Now imagine your Trump, thousands of memes painting you in terrible light. People around the country and around the world hating you because you’re trying to make America great.

And yet he gets up every day and fights back. Not exactly a description of a fragile person.

It’s “you’re” not “your”.

And the reason Scoot is growing an audience here on Substack is because Facebook is filled with people like you who don’t have facts or intelligent opinions to present, so they simply do exactly what you’re doing here, which is resorting to personal attacks.

First of all thanks for the grammar lesson. My wife’s a reading teacher and would be upset with me for that mistake. I must have been dictating that part of the post. Secondly, I don’t believe my post was a personal attack, just an observation. I enjoy discussing topics with people of differing opinions outside my “ right wing echo chamber.”

Obama brought out the racism in many, and Trump empowered them.

I think that’s a fair observation, but let’s understand that it was mostly Obama’s presence that ignited racism. He did say a few things that make many Americans feel like he was representing Black America.

🧵 SUBSTACK POST 🧵

📢 Grandparents, We Must Sound the Alarm: Our Tax Dollars Are Funding a Police State

Dear Beloved Grandparents,

It’s time we speak plainly.

As we sit around our kitchen tables, our children and grandchildren are being forced to grow up in a country that is sliding closer and closer to authoritarian rule — and we are being made to fund it.

⚠️ The Senate’s version of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Reconciliation Bill” includes massive ICE funding — funneling billions of our tax dollars into:

Masked federal agents in unmarked vans

Coordinated, abusive raids in communities across the country

The kidnapping of long-time residents — including legal immigrants — under vague suspicions

A growing federal police force operating with no transparency or civil rights oversight

This is not border security. This is state-sponsored terror, paid for by working Americans like you and me.

And it gets worse.

During a recent visit with El Salvador’s president, Trump boasted about plans to deport “homegrown” people — a chilling phrase that should strike fear in any true patriot. It implies citizens — born and raised here — could be targeted for political reasons, ethnicity, activism, or simple dissent.

Let us be clear: this is the language of fascism.

We’ve read about this in history books. Hitler’s party didn’t start with death camps. It started by vilifying immigrants, imprisoning critics, and passing laws that funded paramilitary forces while silencing opposition — all under the guise of “order.”

That is the road we are now on.

🛑 But we can still turn around — if we act now.

✅ Call your U.S. Senators and Representatives. Demand they vote no on this ICE expansion buried in Trump’s reconciliation bill.

✅ Support independent media — they are uncovering what corporate outlets are ignoring. Share, subscribe, and spread the truth.

✅ Educate your family and neighbors — especially young voters and those raised on right-wing news.

✅ Remind your communities: We’ve seen this before. We must never be silent again.

📣 Grandparents — we are the protectors of memory and the guardians of democracy.

Let us honor that duty now.

🇺🇸 Peaceful resistance. Public truth. People before power.

In Solidarity,

Clarissa Sr, an American Grandma

The fear you mention is very real. It amazes me how many Americans will ignore what’s happening to our country in support of this president.

I appreciate your comment, Clarissa! Thanks!
